I've temporarily turned it off for my comments, as it's way too hard to use. Hopefully, spammers won't appear out of the woodwork. Google has a feedback forum HERE. I highly recommend going there and leaving a message about the new captcha system.
I know I've quit leaving comments on blogs that use it. I usually take two or three tries to read the damn captcha correctly, and I don't need that hassle.

Yeah, the captcha have gotten more difficult to read. I've turned mine off as well. I guess if spammers start going crazy, I can switch it to "moderate" but hopefully that won't be an issue. I only get about one spam comment a month anyway.
Where does one go to turn this new system off? I haven't been able to find anything related to captchas in my dashboard.
Under Settings and then Comments. There is an entry for Word Verification you can turn off.
